Organization of air exchange in operating rooms

6.16. Filters shall be inspected and cleaned at least once a month (replace filters when dirty).

6.29. Preventive inspection and repair of ventilation and air conditioning systems of air ducts shall be carried out in accordance with the approved schedule, but at least twice a year. Elimination of current faults, defects shall be carried out without delay. Filters shall be inspected, cleaned and replaced at least once a month.

6.30. The operating organization must monitor the temperature, humidity and chemical contamination of the air environment, checking the performance of ventilation systems and multiplicity of air exchange*(9):

in the main functional rooms of operating rooms, postoperative, delivery rooms, intensive care wards, FTO, rooms for storage of potent and poisonous substances, pharmacy warehouses, rooms for preparation of medicines, laboratories, therapeutic dentistry department, preparation of amalgam, special rooms of radiology departments and other rooms in offices using chemicals and other substances and compounds that may have a harmful effect on human health, once every 3 months;

Infectious and tuberculosis hospitals (departments), bacteriological, viral laboratories, X-ray rooms – once every 6 months;

in other rooms – once every 12 months.

The results of the control should be documented in a report stored in the institution.
